S&P 500 earnings seen declining in fourth quarter from year earlier: Refinitiv

S&P 500 companies’ earnings are expected to decline in the fourth quarter from the year-earlier period, which could be a second straight quarterly profit fall for the group, according to IBES data from Refinitiv. As of Tuesday, fourth-quarter earnings for the S&P 500 were expected to fall 0.1% from the year-earlier period, according to analysts’ forecasts compiled by Refinitiv.
